What is KINDNESS and why is it essential to a life well lived?

Let's start with a circle... Create your circle with KINDNESS at the center.

Kindness Circle

Your circle represents your life, your family, your relationships, and the connections you create in the world around you. Building relationships with kindness and wisdom brings strength to those relationships, and provides a space to love completely with encouragement, loyalty, discretion, and forgiveness. Whatever you decide to strengthen in your life, always keep kindness at the core and you will create the most treasured, trusted, and authentic circle around you.

Kindness is not dependent upon a feeling or a state. You don't have to be 'in the mood' to be kind. You can act from kindness, even if you feel angry, sad, frustrated, or just about anything else. Kindness is more of an orientation that comes from recognition. Recognizing in myself what I see in others. Recognizing that we are all in the same boat. Recognizing that I am responsible for how I relate to what comes up in me. And for that, being kind is just another way to relate to others and meet the needs of both.

Kindness is simple, but significant

In today's world, kindness is unexpected and shocking. To a person who lives in a world of struggle, your ability to contribute in a positive way can literally change their life. What seems like a simple act of compassion for you may be the most significant experience for them. If you can be a blessing, DO IT!

Everyone really has two lives, their outer life to interact with the world, and their inner life to communicate with themselves. This internal dialogue creates your thoughts, dreams, desires, motivation, and inspiration. But more often than not, it's not the outer life that we are least kind to...it's ourselves. We don't give ourselves the grace we give others. We punish and shame ourselves. We compare ourselves and feel our shortcomings. But one thing is for sure: you cannot serve the world from an empty cup. The more you extend kindness to yourself, the more it will become your automatic response to others. So be kind to yourself in order to better serve kindness to someone else, and let your kindness flood the world.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind. You can engage others in encouragement, compassion, and a willingness to listen, but the most important thing is to ENGAGE. The intention of kindness is thoughtful, but the action of kindness is meaningful!

Be the kindness you wish to see in the world!

In a world where you can be anything, be kind.
